It comes with the insert issued with it explaining the history of Bavarian heraldry. The insert is transcribed below along with a rough translation.
The history of the Bavarian heraldry. .

It has long been fashionable to make the coat of arms for a picture book reflects a political issue not only possession but also claims. Diamond Bourse in Antwerpen (Antwerpsche Diamantkring CVBA - Belgium) - founded on June 7th 1904 by Antwerp diamond merchants keen to move their diamond dealing from café Petit Duc in the Pelikaanstraat to a more secure and structured place of business, the Antwerp diamond bourse has contributed its own rich, 110 year chapter to the 550 year history of diamonds in the city.

Situated in a listed building spanning a block stretching from the Pelikaanstraat to the Hovenierstraat the Bourse is host to a magnificent trading hall, a testimony to the centuries of Antwerps’s trade in rough and polished diamonds that has underpinned the international diamond trade.

Antwerp’s diamond trade has for 550 years mirrored the movements of commerce, traders and diamonds from India, Brazil, Africa, Russia and Canada whilst reflecting developments in cutting and polishing and trade. Antwerp’s diamond heritage and expertise is also intertwined with the histories of the diamond trades of New York, Israel, India, Russia, South Africa, DRC, Angola, and Botswana.

From 1464 until today, diamonds have etched their history in the economic ebbs and flows of the city of Antwerp. Few clusters anywhere in the world can tell such a story; and still today record a turnover of US$53 billion in 2013. With walk-on players like Napoleon commissioning the re-cutting of stones in Antwerp, to De Beers looking to Antwerp to re-launch the diamond trade after the devastation of World War II, to the reaching out of the mayors and other city leaders in 1945 to bring back Antwerp expert polishers who had fled the Nazis to South America and New York, the Antwerp diamond trade is a unique historical record of geo-politics, international trade, migration and economics.

The Panic of 1873 was a financial crisis that triggered a depression iin Europe and North America that lasted from 1873 until 1879, and even longer in some countries. In Britain, for example, it started two decades of stagnation known as the "Long Depression" that weakened the country's economic leadership. The Panic was known as the "Great Depression" until the events in the early 1930s took precedence.

The Panic of 1873 and the subsequent depression had several underlying causes, of which economic historians debate the relative importance. Post-war inflation, rampant speculative investments (overwhelmingly in railroads), a large trade deficit, ripples from economic dislocation in Europe resulting from the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871), property losses in the Chicago (1871) and Boston (1872) fires, and other factors put a massive strain on bank reserves, which plummeted in New York City during September and October 1873 from $50 million to $17 million.

The first symptoms of the crisis were financial failures in the Austro -Hungarian capital, Vienna, which spread to most of Europe and North America by 1873.

After the 1873 depression, agricultural and industrial groups lobbied for protective tarrifs. The 1879 tariffs protected these interests, stimulated economic revival through state intervention and refurbished political support for the conservative politicians Bismarck and John A. Macdonald (the Canadian prime minister). Chancellor Bismarck gradually veered away from classical liberal economic policies in the 1870s, embracing many conservative and progressive policies, including high tariffs, nationalization of railroads, and compulsory social insurance. This political and economic nationalism also reduced the fortunes of the German and Canadian classical liberal parties. France, like Britain, also entered into a prolonged stagnation that extended to 1897. The French also attempted to deal with their economic problems through the implementation of tariffs. New French laws in 1880 and in 1892 imposed stiff tariffs on many agricultural and industrial imports, an attempt at protectionism. The U.S., still in the period after the Civil War, continued to be very protectionist.

The Panic of 1907 – also known as the 1907 Bankers' Panic or Knickerbocker Crisis – was a United States financial crisis that took place when the New York Stock Exchange fell almost 50% from its peak the previous year. Panic occurred, as this was during a time of economic recession, and there were numerous runs on banks and trust companies. The 1907 panic eventually spread throughout the nation when many state and local banks and businesses entered bankrupcy. Primary causes of the run included a retraction of market liquidity by a number of New York City banks and a loss of confidence among depositors, exacerbated by unregulated side bets at bucket shops. The panic was triggered by the failed attempt in October 1907 to corner the market on stock of the United Copper Company. When this bid failed, banks that had lent money to the cornering scheme suffered runs that later spread to affiliated banks and trusts, leading a week later to the downfall of the Knickerbocker Trust Company - New York City's third-largest trust. The collapse of the Knickerbocker spread fear throughout the city's trusts as regional banks withdrew reserves from New York City banks. Panic extended across the nation as vast numbers of people withdrew deposits from their regional banks.

The panic might have deepened if not for the intervention of financier J.P. Morgan, who pledged large sums of his own money, and convinced other New York bankers to do the same, to shore up the banking system. At the time, the United States did not have a central bank to inject liquidity back into the market. By November, the financial contagion had largely ended, only to be replaced by a further crisis. This was due to the heavy borrowing of a large brokerage firm that used the stock of Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railway Company (TC&I) as collateral. Collapse of TC&I's stock price was averted by an emergency takeover by Morgan's U.S. Steel Corporation - a move approved by anti-monopolist president Theodore Roosevelt. The following year, Senator nelson W Aldrich, father-in-law of John D. Rockefeller, Jr., established and chaired a commission to investigate the crisis and propose future solutions, leading to the creation of the Federal Reserve System.
